Welcome to the Capita recruitment website! I’m Aman Kalirai and I’m currently seconded as one of our Heads of Operations. Capita has a strong drive to retain and develop talent within the business and my career journey is the perfect example of that.
I’ve had a lot of varied roles whilst working here, which all started back in 2014 as Team Manager, managing a team of Functional Specialists across Birmingham and Worcester. This was a great role as it enabled me to quickly learn and understand the PIP process, hone my skills as a people manager and put forward process improvement opportunities to shape the business and claimant journey for the future.
When Capita opened its first 15-room clinic in Birmingham, I was promoted to Regional Clinic Manager. This involved opening new sites whilst also reviewing and improving our capacity targets across the entire operation.
Following this, a fantastic opportunity came up working with our Escalations Team. This is a client-facing team whose remit includes providing assessments for Special Rules End of Life cases. Managing this team helped me develop my existing knowledge of the business, as well as expand the team into South Wales and Northern Ireland.
I then decided to use all the operational knowledge I’d gained but apply it in a different way, by becoming a Business Analyst. This coincided with the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, and I was quickly thrust into devising new processes to support our Functional Specialists to conduct Telephone Assessments for the first time.
From there, I became the Contractor and Venues Regional Manager. The primary aim of this role was to open our clinic sites back up in a safe manner for both claimants and colleagues. Having successfully opened our sites back up, I became the West Regional Manager, leading a team of Functional Specialists and Team Managers.
Which takes me to my role today as Head of Operations. I’m really enjoying the opportunity to draw on my decade of experience on PIP to support the entire operation and make positive change.
